About the ewws
WHY WAS THE EWWS NECESSARY?
There was a time where in order to become the best whitewater kayaker you could be you had to find the path by yourself. Progression was slow and there were plenty of obstacles and hardships on the way, specially for teenagers. Too often progression depended on luck; having a good club nearby, parents who could take time-off to drive to the river or freestyle event, having a local feature…
The EWWS was born with the objective to bring the most motivated paddlers together and take their kayaking to new heights by removing all these barriers. The EWWS is where the future legends of whitewater meet and are forged. It doesn’t matter whether you want to become the next steezy creekboater, freestyle champion or expedition kayaker, we will help you become the best version of yourself.
An how do we accomplish this? Through our unique coaching approach. We only work with the best professionals in the industry; a blent of top-tier kayakers, local G.O.A.T.s and champion coaches.
Join the EWWS and unlock your potential.
WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU LEARN?
HOW DOES THE EWWS OPERATE?
Navigating the logistics of organizing a kayaking trip abroad can be quite challenging. Especially when flying solo, we understand the concerns and uncertainties that may arise. That’s why we offer pre-camp logistics assistance to ease your journey every step of the way.
Whether it’s finding the right flight, providing advice on selecting the most suitable kayak, or assisting with a comprehensive packing list, we’re here for you. Our team is ready to address all your doubts and questions, ensuring a smooth and worry-free experience. Use the chat in the bottom right corner to address any of your doubts.
We provide shuttles to the airport upon arrival and departure. We will also help you pack your kayak and gear before your flight back and assist you through the check-in and security. And do not worry, we always stick around until everyone is on their merry way home, so if your flight got cancelled or you missed the flight we would pick you up and figure out the best solution to get you home.
We only work with human beings capable to inspire you both on and off the water. Expect our coaches to be kind, passionate and creative individuals that put all their heart to what they do. A blend of the finest kayakers, local G.O.A.T.S. and champion coaches. Not only are all of our coaches whitewater ninjas, they all have an unchallenged reputation for their vast knowledge on safety.
We cover all meals, except for those on transit days and one special outing to a local restaurant where you can savor the local cuisine. Our dedication extends to meeting all your dietary preferences and restrictions.
Our commitment to accommodating diverse needs is evident in our flexibility to adjust to gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. Simply communicate your requirements or allergies through the Google logistics form on your trip dashboard, and we’ll seamlessly integrate your dietary needs.
At the core of our approach is the provision of optimal nutrition for our esteemed alumni and coaches. Throughout the camp, we prioritize an abundance of essential micro and macro nutrients, featuring a palette rich in greens, whole grains, fruits, vegetal proteins, and fresh meats. We do our best to minimize processed foods, and put a conscious effort to offer sugars wisely.
Recognising the varied tastes of our predominantly teenage paddlers and understanding that some may have specific preferences, rest assured, we’ve got it all covered. From emergency chicken nuggets to classic pasta with tomatoes, no one goes hungry during the camp.
However, our philosophy centers around the belief that you are what you eat. Thus, our dinner table showcases a vibrant array of options, including wraps bursting with fresh vegetables, bean burritos, baked vegetables, local meat paired with a green salad, eggs, freshly cooked pasta with pesto and parmesan, rice with curry sauce, and delectable desserts featuring fruits and yogurts.
All transport is provided from the moment we pick you up at the airport and until you take your flight back home. That, unless we catch you littering the backseats of the EWWS van, in which case you’ll need to walk to the river. The fee of the camp doesn’t cover your flights.
Resting well after long days in the water is very important and that’s why accommodation in airbnb-style accommodations is always our preferred choice. We tend to book big houses where we all get to spend time together in the evening, get to know each other, play some board games and have meetings and debriefs once the day finishes. Some duties will be shared and we may ask you to help out with some tasks. But don’t worry, washing dishes isn’t dull when you do it with friends.
